Welcome to Online Therapy and Online Counselling With the Privacy of Email
Online therapy or counselling provides a safe and supportive environment in which you will be listened to, understood and accepted — an environment in which you can focus on your own life and on what matters to you.
Is It the Right Time for Online Counselling or Therapy?
You might have stumbled upon this site while looking for general information about therapy or counselling, or about online therapeutic work in particular. If so, I hope you might find what you need here, or perhaps at our sister site, CounsellingResource.com, which covers mental health more broadly.
But many visitors are after something more than just information: they are looking for individual, one-to-one attention, and some space and time to understand and be understood.
If you value being listened to and understood, if you value being accepted for who you are and how you feel, if you value dedicating time to exploring and focusing on your own life and on what matters to you, then you are just the sort of person this service is designed for.
Getting started with online counselling or online therapy via email is simple, straightforward and secure — just go to Getting Started for an easy, step-by-step guide and our secure Welcome Questionnaire, protected by full 256-bit SSL encryption.
Alternatively, if you’d just like to look around for awhile, you can choose from the links in the sidebar or have a look through the rest of the site.
Why Try Counselling by Email?
I believe that most people, most of the time, already have within themselves most of the resources they need for living happy and effective lives. However, sometimes circumstances — external as well as internal — can make it hard to make the most of these resources.
That is where many people find a counselling or psychotherapy relationship helpful. I aim to provide an environment where you can explore whatever you would like to explore, where you can think the unthinkable, feel the unbearable — and know that there is someone else nearby, a companion who will join you in the experience with understanding and patience, but without judging you. I describe something of what this is like on the page called What to Expect?. If you’d like to try email counselling, just visit the Getting Started pages now.
About Geography
Just a quick note about our relative places on the planet: although geographically located in England, I work with clients from all over the world! This service has been contacted by people from North America, Europe, Central America, Asia, Africa and Australia. (And many of them have done a great deal of work: in 2006, for example, I became the first online counsellor in history to report having completed over 1 million words of fully documented, fully peer-supervised individual email-based online counselling.)
